Home

Home, it just sounds good, don’t you think? People mix up houses and homes but they’re different. Home is something that you feel, and you share with your family. When you’re in your car and you look out your car window you see houses but they’re just buildings. When you see your house you say, “that's home”. The reason is because that’s where your memories are. Good and bad too. Not all memories are good like falling down the stairs. But there are also good memories like getting your first bike or one of your birthdays. It also matters who you’re making memories with which is usually your family. Family is one of the things that make a house a home. When you first move into a house its place with four walls and some windows but after a while you start making memories and your family is there for you. Another massive thing that makes a house a home for me is traditions. I have religious and non-religious traditions. I am Sikh so I have traditions like Lohri and Diwali. I also have non-religious traditions like new years and birthdays. Home is a place which I feel safe at and I'm grateful I do because some people at places like Ukraine do not feel this way right now. At home I feel loved and cared for by my family. Home is something much more than a house. I hope that our writing will help Habitat for Humanity so that more people can get a place to call home.
