Home. A simple word with four letters, meaning so much for a short word. But what is home? Home is love. Home is the feeling of having a warm safe box around you. Home is safety. Home is hard, secure walls. Home is warmth. Home is knowing you can always come home and be safe. Home is the feeling of the wind rushing past you as you speed down a huge ski hill. Home is the feeling of soft fur as you stroke your beloved pet. Home is the sound of rain. Hard pouring that turns into steady calming drips. Home is laughing and shouting. Home is the fire crackling on a cold winter morning. Home is the birds singing in the early morning. Home is the smell of smoke by a warm summer campfire. Home is the smell of freshly fallen rain. Home is the smell of chlorine after swimming in the pool in the hot summer time. Home is the smell of fresh air filling your lungs when you're biking around on a beautiful spring morning. Home is the taste of bacon in the morning, warm, crunchy and greasy. Home is the taste of ice cream, sweet and wonderful for hot summer days. Home is the taste of hot chocolate, perfect for when you're cold after get off the ski hills. Home is the taste of fast food for when you've had a fun family day in the summer. Home is the sight of the colors of the leaves changing in fall, when red, gold and orange paint the forest. Home is the sight of nature around you in a beautiful forest. Home is where the sight of wild animals running wild and free. Home is the sight of trees budding in the spring, promising the new beginnings to come. Habitat for humanity is new beginnings. Home can be anywhere, home is portable. Home is where the people that you love and care about are. Home is unbreakable. Everyone should have a safe home, a place where you can run to and be safe from the world. Anyone CAN have a home. Everyone needs, should and will have a home. Home is love, peace, justice, and a safe place for you to stay and live. Home isn't a place. Home isn't a building. Home is anywhere. Home is yours. All yours.
