What is a home? Is it a place full of wonder, curiosity and dreams? What is a home, and what does it feel like? Does it feel like a warm hug? A kiss goodnight? Or a cuddly blanket on a cold winter day? What is a home, and what could it taste like? Does it taste like freshly baked cookies? Cakes? Or even pie? What is home, and what does it sound like? Does it sound like an “I love you”? Or a “good night”? What is a home, and what does it smell like? Does it smell like the aroma of sautéed garlic? Or fried bacon? What is a home, and what does it look like? Does it look messy? Unkempt? Or is it tidy and polished? Whether your home is big or small, what matters are the memories, stories, and songs shared, cherished, and told. I hope that families can find a place they can call home, through Habitat for Humanity’s meaning of home project, because everyone deserves to call a house a home.
