What home means to me

Home is that feeling of safety, laughter and love. I think of my family all together watching a movie by the fire. The delicious taste of our homemade sundaes with the fresh ice cream we had just bought from the store , and trying to see who made the best one. I see… My brothers and I make snowmen, and how it somehow turns into a competition. I feel… the soft touch of my blanket while I watch the sunset fade away. I smell… the fresh popped buttery popcorn prepared by my Mom. I taste… the warmth of my hot apple cider drunk by me and my family. I hear… the sound of me and my brothers tobogganing and the laughter we shared together. The true meaning of home to me means happiness, love , laughter and safety. Knowing that I will have a roof over my head and a meal on the table and a safe place to sleep at night is what is most important to me. “ A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built with love and dreams'' - Ralph Waldo Emerson. Where I live I know that i will be safe and loved, knowing that gives me a sense of confidence. How I feel about myself will always be with me. This is what home is to me.
