My Home

In my home I like to see, The things that are surrounding me. My bed that’s soft and green My little sister, tall and lean. In my home I like to hear, The sounds that flow up to my ear. My cat that's leaping at the door, The sound of my fathers’ snore. In my home I like to feel, The objects that are solid and real. My mother giving me a hug, My cat that’s lying on the rug. In my home I like to smell, The smells that I know so well. My pillow plumped up nice and neat, Cookies cooling on their sheets. In my home I like to taste, The tastes that I consume with haste. Potatoes cooked in many ways, Chocolate cake on which I gaze. That’s a sample of my home, I hold it close no matter how far I roam.
