The Meaning of Home

The bus stops and I get off following my sister. I walk up my driveway, it is a long walk, but I like it. As I walk, I feel the warm air hitting my skin. I hear birds chirping and the tree limbs rustling in the wind. Every direction I look I see open fields, some filled with corn and some with hay. I wave to my neighbour as he walks down our road. I turn the key on my four wheeler and feel my tires tear up the dirt as I ride up and down hills. I am home. We pull into the parking lot, I grab my hockey bag and see my friends, I am home. I open the door to the rink and hear people talking and stick handling. I find our dressing room, drop my bag and chat with the boys. The dressing room is a place where I can relax, and on the other hand, were my teammates have loud music playing and pump each other up! I step on the ice and hear my skates tear the ice. I am home. We drive down a windy narrow tree lined road. The truck stops. I open the door and see the lake, I am home. I hear boats driving by and people at the neighbours house telling me to come over. I play around in the yard for a little while and then it’s time to go skiing. I hear the boat start, I strap on my ski and get ready to take off, I am home. After dinner my mom and sister snuggle up to watch a movie. That's when I know it’s time to go fishing. I pack up all my things and set off to the beautiful lake. I am home.
