Home

When I hear the word home the first thing that I think of is my brother. When I think of my brother I think of kindness. Does that mean home is kindness? My first home was in Iraq. I remember feeling happy before the war started. And then we came to Canada. Now my home is in Canada and it is warm, safe, cozy and fun. Home is where I learn things about my religion. It is where I do the right things and not the wrong things. Home is where I watch movies with my mom, brother and two sisters. My brother always plays games with me. My brother makes me happy and makes me feel like I belong. My mom always makes me food when I am hungry, and she always tries her best for me. My favorite food is green leaves with rice and tiny pieces of meat. It makes me feel good to eat food from my culture. My mom makes me feel loved. She buys me new clothes and comforts me when I feel sad or frustrated. She makes me feel happy. My sisters always buy me chips and drinks and it makes me feel so grateful for everything I have. That is what home means to me.
