What Home Means to Me

Home means a lot of things. But there is a difference between a house and a home. A house is a structure (or building). A house has walls, a roof, kitchen, furniture, and all that stuff. But a home is something that makes your house feel like you're at home. Example: family, food, certain smells, stuffies (if any), and a bunch of stuff like that. If I didn’t have a home I would be very sad. I feel very bad for people who lost their homes during Fiona or have very bad property damage. That is why I'm participating in this competition, so we can support those people that have lost their homes. Now we are gonna talk about what I like about my home. Home is like a comfort zone. I like the delicious food that my mom makes. I also love my stuffies. My mom, dad, grandma and grandpa always got me stuffies when I was little. Even my best friends got me stuffies. I love to be out in my living room with my family. I watch the hockey game with my dad, as long as it is not a school night. I also like feeling safe. When I was in grade 4 I struggled when I tried to sleep. I always thought someone was watching me. It was right around Halloween and my class watched very scary stories on the big screen. I was so scared I played prodigy math games instead. I just like feeling safe, even when I’m not at home. So that is the difference between a house and a home. I hope you enjoyed my definitions.
