Home is Family

Good morning/afternoon, today I will tell you what home is to me. Family. Home is where family is, for example I remember when my family took a vacation. The bonfire. When I sat by the bonfire my eyes got overwhelmed by the heat of the fire, but not in a bad way. As my family roasted s’mores and hotdogs I felt a feeling of love and acceptance warming the air. I was not at my house, but I still felt home. Welcoming. When I step into my house every night my dog comes sprinting out to see me. You would think that was not important but it is. As my dog scampers around me I feel needed. Like flowers need the rain or like we need oxygen. That just goes to show that you don’t need to be related to be family. Cuddles. You might think that it is weird that I still cuddle my family members. I love having my dog up on my moms bed while me and my mom talk. Sometimes we watch my Ipad, I smile. It is not the TV show that makes me smile, it is my family! The love and smiles shared warms the room. I believe that everyone should have that. I will have to say goodbye now that you have got an idea about home to me, I also want to thank habitat for humanity for making a difference in the world! Sincerely, Grace
