Home is Where the Heart Is

I couldn’t imagine walking into my home after a long day at school and not having my dogs jumping all over me, so exited for me to be home. I go and see my fluffy kitten purring and waiting at my door. I hear my Dad listening to loud music in his office. I smell homemade chicken noodle soup with some freshly cut veggies at the counter waiting for me to dig in. I touch the hot soup bowl burning my hands and I place it down on the table and look down to see my dogs watching me eat, waiting for me to give them food. I couldn’t imagine eating a meal and not having them staring me to death. I taste my Dad’s famous chicken noodle soup burning down my throat. After I finish the meal, I walk into my room and I see my kitten sleeping on my bed and I touch her soft fur rolling down my hands. When my mom comes home I welcome her with a hug. She then does some chores around the house and she askes me to do a share. When I’m done I'm snug in my bed where I can laugh sing and be myself. It’s a place where no one can, or will, judge me. I can dance, play, and have fun. Home is where the heart is, and Everyone deserves a home.
