The Packaged House

This story is about what my home means to me. But this story isn't about my home, it's about what makes it special. You may be wondering what could make my home so special. Well it's my family within it my Mom, Dad, Brother and my dog. I'll tell you what happens in my house. My Dad no matter what He's always trying to help us get better at whatever we set our minds to. When I feel my dads rough skin it makes me feel safe and protected. It also brings a great big warm hug. My Mom is the peacekeeper and she keeps me safe. I'm so thankful for who she is. When she bakes homemade shortbread I race my brother to get to the kitchen. When we smell the fresh butter smell it's time. My Brother I probably owe the most to him he taught me everything I know sports, math and physics. Everyday I hear him yell encouragement. He was the first person to read me John 3:16 this is what it said: For God so loved the world for he gave us his one and only son so whoever believed in him would not perish but have eternal life. I'm so blessed to have the gift of sight. A lot of people take the gift of sight for granted. I should know because I do I spend so much time arguing that I don't use it for important things like family.Thats the same thing with taste. I don't savor the little things. Home to me is where I am safe and accepted for who I am. I want others to experience the same.
