The Meaning of Home

My house consists of walls, a roof, and a floor. But inside is my home, you’ll find it when you open the door. My house is just one container for this amazing thing I call home. I won’t find it just anywhere I roam. Home is a wonderful haven. A peaceful dove, when the world is a dark raven. Home is the stars in the night sky. There, I know I’ll be comforted when I cry. Home is the place where I can be me. Where there are no boundaries, and I can be free. There are many homes, as far as one can see. But my home will always be my home, and it will always be. At home, I know I am loved. There, anywhere I look, I’ll find people I trust. It’s the place I look to after a long day. A vibrant splash of color in a painting full of gray. Home isn’t just a place, it’s the place. The place I’ll find my family’s warm embrace. Home is the place that, to me, will always be safe. No one there will judge me when I make a mistake. It’s familiar and soothing, I see it everyday. A compass for me when I’m led astray. Above all, what really matters is the love and care at this great place I call home. And over the years, it has grown.
