What home means to me

Home. Home is way more than just a place to set your things. Home is a place you can sleep at night.Home is a place where food is provided. Home is safety and security, two vital things that money cannot buy. In my home, I am fortunate enough to have clean, healthy water, free from chemicals and germs. Home is where I am provided for, with a bed to be safe, secure and warm at night. Home is a place that when I wake up in my bed, I know that I am waking up to a safe, sheltered building that I can call MY home. My home is not just for my family and I to feel safe in, it's a place where anyone can feel welcome, comfortable, protected and calm. A home is a place where we feel shielded and happy. It is a place to make memories. Maybe to you, memories mean laughing by the fire, watching a funny movie with your family or playing a board game on your couch with your siblings. To me, memories are when me and my sister sit together and see all of our old pictures and videos of us as babies. Homes are there for all these reasons but most of all, a home is where you can feel safe and relaxed. For some people, knowing that you can walk into a home and be protected and safe from the outside world could be a dream, as not everyone is as fortunate as you. So if you are ever in doubt, think of how lucky you are to have a bed, a family, clean water and protection. Just that is enough.
