The Meaning of home

Happiness, love, safety and laughter. You might think these are just words but to me, it’s what home feels like. Happiness and love fills my house with millions of memories to cherish. My home is not just a structure, it also encompasses the outdoors. My dad makes me feel happy when we are hunting and we always get a good laugh with it. When I hunt with my dad I see the beautiful outdoors, I feel the cool breeze tickling my nose, I smell the fresh baited apples which we put out to attract the deer. I hear the sound of sticks creaking when the trees swing with the wind. I taste the delicious dinner after a long day of hunting. I love my home and everything about it as well as the outdoor property upon which it is built. My family is everything. I'm so lucky to have these people around me that I can trust and build upon when others don’t. I feel safe in my home. I can talk to my family about anything and everything without judgment. We laugh all the time. The kind of laughs that make you fall on the floor you’re laughing so hard. Imagine not having these feelings to come home to from a long day or not having somewhere to sleep at night. My family has made a difference in my life and my home. They make it feel special and more like home. Some people don’t have a home, so if you have one, be proud of it and love every memory you make there. Home is not a place, it’s a feeling.
