What home means to me

Love, happiness, comfort and trust. You might think these are just words, but to me, this is what home feels like. When I think of home, I think of a nice warm place where I feel safe and loved by my family. Home is not just a building, it is a place filled with love. My family is the people I can trust with anything, and everything. They will love me no matter what I do. When I enter my house, I smell freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and a warm glass of milk by the fire. When I am at home, talking to my parents helps me escape from all of my problems. It helps me forget about what is bothering me by expressing all of my emotions. I feel comforted when I know I am being understood and appreciated. Having a family who understands what you are trying to get off your chest is important because knowing that they will try to make you feel better is comforting. Laughter is all around my house. When I am with my family, I am always laughing and being happy. When we are watching a funny movie, I get to hear my family’s real laugh, which means they are comfortable in our loving home. Spending time with family is the best part of life. Family members are the first people to make us smile when we are young. They are the people that bring happiness into our life by taking care of us and making us feel complete. All of these little things make a simple structure feel like home. This is what I feel when I walk into my house. I am overjoyed that I have such a comforting and loving home and I hope you do too.
