The True Meaning of Home

What is the true meaning of home? To me, home is not just a dense, brick building. It is not just the chilling touch of the marble floors I feel under my feet as I walk around. Or the cushioned bed I sleep in every night the moon goes down. Home is the joyous sound of laughter I hear and the grinning faces I see as I step into the main. The touch of damp grass as it reaches my bare feet in the springtime rain. It is the delightful smell of scrambled eggs sizzling in the kitchen on a pleasant morning and the cold breeze of winter air when I am playing in the snow. Watching the delicate snowflakes fall ever so graceful and slow. Fun Family Friday Nights curled up tight on the couch watching movies and laughing hysterically or shedding a tear. I am so lucky that home will never be something to fear. Home is the warmth of a blanket being wrapped around me before I rest my weary head. Feeling so very snug in my warm, toasty, lovable bed. But most importantly, home is the unconditional love it provides me. With my family, it's never just I. It's we. That is the true meaning of home. Everyone deserves to have one full of shalom.
