Home is family

Maison, house, apartment, jai, cottage, bari, mansion, These are all homes, But there is another home, One which is special to me, When I think of home, I think of my home, The place where my family will always be, But I also think of those without homes, It makes me mad, It makes me sad, That people are experiencing homelessness. Home is where I have freedom, Home is where I have family. The thing that makes, A house, a home, is family. But there was once a time when me and my mom, We're living in a shelter, But it wasn’t so bad since I had my mom with me. Although I haven’t experienced full on homelessness, I know you can still be happy even if you’re homeless. If you’re homeless, And you have friends or family, They can help you, And make you feel at home, when one is not in sight Because home is more than just wood and brick, home is family and friends. Now all you need is a house. The homeless feel invisible, Just a hello can change their day. Thank you, habitat for humanity.
