What Home Means to Me

Home to me means having a loving family who is there for me in both happy and sad times. We look after each other and spend time together. I have a big family, you could even say, huge. My Mom, brothers, sister, Grammie, Nan, Nana Jojo and poppy James and aunts and uncles. I have lots of memories of special family times. One day of the year that is special to me is boxing day as it is my birthday and Grammie comes from New Brunswick. My Auntie Bubba and Dallas come for the whole day. We have a big turkey dinner and mom makes her special oreo, butterscotch, pie… my favorite!!! We spend the day coloring and doing crafts and decorating cookies and just being together. I love my family to infinity and beyond. Family is home to me. Home is cuddling up in the living room bed with my mom and my brothers to watch our favorite shows: The Brew of Magical Things and the new Wednesday Adams series. The heat from our wood stove and the glow from its flames makes me feel safe and warm. Home means nothing to me without my family.
