Meaning of Home

Home for me is not just a house. Home is going to the beach on a hot summer day when the sun is shining like a lightbulb with my whole family, SPLISH! SPLASH! Right as we arrived at the beach I run straight into the ocean. Home is playing hockey for the Cheticamp Trail Riders and skating as fast as my legs can go to get that puck! Home is going to the wharf with my cousin Jaya and watching the sunset by the water. You can hear the waves crashing on the wharf and the seagulls squawking in the distance. Home is having sleepovers with best friends and staying up all night. “Look, the sun is rising!”. Home is spending time with my basketball team at hotels and giggling the whole time. “We are having a blast!”. Home is going to Kings Point beach with my nanny. One time I remember my cousins came down from Sydney and after the sun set we drove to the beach. We had a campfire and smores. I got marshmallows all in my hair and everyone had a good giggle because I didn’t even notice. Home is going to PEI with my whole family and visiting Shining Waters water park and staying from opening to closing. Woo Hoo! Last of all, home is my parents because they are always there for me and showing me unconditional love and support for the last 11 years of my life. The word home has a way bigger meaning than it sounds. Home is wherever you feel the safest and most comfortable. Home can be a person. But to me home is all of these things and more.
