The New House

“Good night, Sarah,” said Papa. “Wait, Papa, tell me a story!” said Sarah. “Fine, Fine. But only if you promise to go to bed after." “I promise!” Sarah pulled the covers up to her chin “ Once upon my childhood,” said Papa, holding a candle up to his face,“ There was a boy named Sam. He was walking home from school, which was just around the corner of his street. When he saw his beautiful house, it was red brick with a black door, but when he walked in the door, he didn’t feel happy anymore.” “Why Papa?” asked Sarah with a puzzled look. “ Well, his Mama was crying and his Papa was sitting in a chair, looking at the ground. His Papa looked at him and motioned for him to come to him, so he did, and then he said, “ Papa, why is Mama crying?” His Papa looked at Mama and she nodded. He said, 'We lost our house today, We don’t have enough money to pay the bills’. “When do we have to …. leave’? “ Tomorrow,” said his Papa. Then Sam looked away and started crying, so he ran out the front door. He slammed it hard and then sat on the step and looked at the ground. He was mad; his face was red. After he calmed down, he walked to his best friend's house which was also his neighbor's, and just let himself in. He walked up to Cole's room and told him the whole story. Together they went online to find a way to find a new house. There was something called Habitat for Humanity and in the end, Sam got a new house. The End’’ ‘’ You were Sam, right Papa” said Sarah. “ Yup’’ said Papa “Good night Sarah.” “Night Papa!”
