My Home Isn't Just the Blue House

My house is a blue three-story, counting the basement. It has a red door and lots of rooms. It is on a cul-de-sac where I play with my friends. My home is more than just a house. It is where I feel connected. Firstly, family is love. They are the people that make my house my home. I love playing board games and video games with my family. My dad and I cook together, and we make a lot of different foods. I bake with my mom. Doing these things, we create a feeling of togetherness. Secondly, my home is where my life happens. My friends come over and we play together have lots of fun. We play hide and seek, video games and sometimes watch movies, I also play with my brother but we take it a bit too seriously sometimes. It is not just day to day life, but also my memories with others that makes my house into a home. Thirdly, when I think of my memories in my house, they involve the people I love, and I feel at home. This is the home I grew up in. I remember that in this house, we finished the basement and decorated to make it feel like home. I remember celebrations with family and friends and lots of laughter. Additionally, my home makes me feel really safe because my family is always close to me and my house has an alarm system. I feel safe when there are thunder storms because my home is sturdy and my family is around me. It is not just a house for shelter but a home surrounded by things that comfort me like my bed, my family and my memories. Finally, home is a place where my parents teach me certain values for my life. These include being honest, having manners, following my faith and following through on what I say by doing it. A house can be just four walls and a roof, but a home is a place surrounding me with my values, family, memories and where I feel safe to be myself.
