The Meaning of Home

What does home mean to me? To me, home is not just a physical place, it is a place full of memories. Primarily, I think home means a safe, and cheerful place where you are respected and enjoyed. But what about all those people without homes? Do they understand what it feels like to have a safe place they can call theirs? Everyone deserves to understand the true meaning of home. When I began authoring this essay, I did not think much about the people that do not have a home, but now that I am a few thoughts come to mind. Do they know what it is like to have a loving place where they can hide when they are at their worst? Where do they go when they need some time to themselves? Just think about that for a moment. In my opinion, no one should have to wonder what it is like to have a caring home where they belong. Secondly, I believe home is about the family you share your home with. For example, when I walk into my friend's house and see their parents it does not feel the same as when I walk into my home and see my parents. Home is all about family because they are the ones that cause the feelings you have. Without feelings, home is not home. It is just a house.
