What Home Means to Me

I don't know where to start. Home is very different from a house. A home has family, friends, kindness, love and respect. You could have these things in a house but when you always have them you will feel safe when you're home. Home will always be there to help you through rough times, and family and friends will help you through anything. A house is a place to live. It might not be safe, it might not have kindness, a home has all of this. Home is the place I feel the best and where I feel open to share my emotions. Home is something people should never be fighting for and everyone deserves one. Home is for anyone and everyone, not just the people with money. 1 in 8 people in Canada don't have a home. That's just over 150,000 people who don't have homes so 1 in 8 people might not seem like a lot but it is. Yes home has furniture and rooms but it's a lot more. There's food, water, joy, family and friends. I know I have said that multiple times but it is so important. There is so much good stuff about a home I can't explain everything in an essay. It would take days to tell people everything about how important homes are. Habitat for Humanity is doing great things and this whole writing contest is awesome. I think everybody should enter this because every entry is a 10 dollar donation which is amazing. You can save those 1 in 8 people just by writing. I don't want or care to win. I'm just happy about doing something to help them. I hope you all have realized after reading this, home is the most important thing in life.
