What Home is to me
To me, home is hearing laughter on family movie night while crunching on buttery popcorn. It is listening to my friends telling funny stories whenever they come over, and is hearing my family saying I love you and me saying it back with a smile.
To me, home is tasting freshly baked treats made with lots of love. It is eating a big feast at a family reunion and is licking candy from a goodie bag that I got at a fun party. Tasting my favorite pizza at a party is much more fun with family. Chewing delicious pancakes and juicy bacon at a hotel on a road trip is so nice.
To me, home is smelling hot and fresh cocoa on a cold winter’s day while sniffing freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. It is smelling my mom’s perfume while she hugs me. I love taking breaths of fresh air while playing outside with friends.
To me, home is feeling warm hugs and is touching my fluffy cozy blanket as I drift off to sleep on my bed. My dwelling is touching the smooth cover of my favorite book. It is feeling love.
To me, home is glimpsing a beautiful sunset with my little sister. Watching beautiful memories being made each day is as precious as seeing friends and family having lots of fun! It is noticing peace, sweet, quiet peace.
That is what home means to me.
