The Fire Hall is my Home

The meaning of home doesn't always have to be where you were brought home from the hospital to. It is a place where you can feel loved and safe; for me, that home is the Fire Hall. I have been at the Fire Hall ever since I was one year old. I remember going to the Fire Hall and having so much fun with all of the firefighters because my dad was doing work to the hall and the trucks. It would bring me so much joy being around inclusive and welcoming people, however, I would always be tired when leaving the Firehall. I recently joined the Junior Fire Department; even though I've only been a member for two months I have gotten along with everybody. In the past, I haven’t always had the easiest time making friends but I have good friendships with everyone in the Junior Fire Department. I think the Fire Hall is the spot I need to be for the rest of my life. I am so happy where I am in my life right now, because of all of those people that are at the Firehall. They've helped me through the hardest time of my life. I've lost somebody that was really close to me and as soon as the fire department found out they came to my house and helped with everything that we needed. I will never be able to thank them enough for that. I could never do anything for them that would repay the exact amount of help they have done for my family and I, but I hope to come close. The North Queens Fire Hall is a place like no other, where everyone is able to feel safe and loved whenever they are there. It is my home.
