The Meaning of Home

My home is safe. I feel safer in my home than in any other place. I have shelter, food and entertainment. Home is where I can be myself. I am provided with shelter and love by my family. We watch movies late at night and play games together. I like to do stuff with my mom like crafts or baking. I like to tell her about my day at school and tell her about the stories and the games I play. I also like watching my dad play his games on the PlayStation, even if his games are boring. My little brother, Sam, can be annoying but I still like doing things with him. I have a dog named Loki and he is a big part of my home. I love him and like playing with him. We recently moved to a new house in June. I had to move schools and say goodbye to most of my friends there. We lived in an apartment, and we could’ve stayed but we moved here instead. My old school reminds me of home. We did this Meaning of Home Project there too. I personally like my old school better since I got along with almost everyone and there were more people like me. I miss it there, but I am also happy here. School is a part of my home. The Philippines is also my home. I have family there and I miss my house. I have no friends there besides relatives, but it still feels like home. You don’t need friends to make a home. I have two homes in the Philippines. One feels more like home than the other. In 2018 we moved from Bahrain to Canada. I was born there and had friends there and people I love. Canada is a bit different from Bahrain, but I still love it. I have many homes and I love all of them. But if I didn’t have my family and friends with me, it wouldn’t feel like much of a home.
