Home and Memories

Home and Memories A house, an apartment, a shelter, a cabin, A home has family and that’s where memories happen, It can be in the north or toward the south, Still you’ll have brightness, warmth, and kindness, It’s where you hug, sleep and where you eat, Standing glad and proud with your home and street! A faint laugh can be heard from the inside of the heavy bricks, A single candle of wax illuminating the family’s games and tricks! On the table lays pastries, bringing everyone’s mind to ease, Cold, icy winds may blow outside for as long as they please, But with the soft music playing, the red and orange flame, Inside home, it will always remain warm, all the same. Everyone needs a home with joy and fun, But what about those who don’t have one… ? Some have a house that isn’t safe and secure… If the house is going to fall, they cannot ensure. Some don’t even have one and wander around to find a bench… Their hearts sink low to a hidden away trench. Some live in shelters, wishing they could be independent… “Where else could I go?” they think with discontent. During hostile nights with snow mountains piling to the sky, People without homes freezing as the little ones cry. Some citizens walk quickly pass and mock them in hushed voices, Feeling bitter and ashamed, sadness creeping into their faces. Walking about the streets begging anyone for a bit of change, They are ignored as people who see them try to keep their expressions unchanged. If everyone lends a hand then perhaps… everybody could have their own home, style and love inside!
