What Is a Home?

What is a home? Is it the mattress inside your bedroom? Or the popcorn maker in the kitchen? The soft blanket that wraps you like a Christmas gift? The true meaning of home is none of the above. I can tell you why. A mattress is a mattress. It can’t know how to comfort you when you're sad. A popcorn maker is just a popcorn maker. It doesn't know how to cook your favourite dishes. A soft blanket is just a soft blanket. It can’t wrap its arms around your body and say, “I love you.” But your mom and dad can. As well as your brothers and sisters and maybe your dog too. Your grandma and grandpa. Your uncles and aunties. All these people love you. And you love them. It is just a big, huge, cycle of love. Now that's the true meaning of home.
