Home

To me home means kitchen. Home means kitchen because the kitchen is where the fun begins and where we have the best moments. On New Year's Eve, the bottle cork kept bouncing off the walls when we opened the bottle until it hit my uncle's head. Home also means kitchen because it’s where we can be grateful to have food that has been made with so much love in it and that we are able to afford it. Not everyone can. The kitchen is where we can make jokes while cooking and debate who’s cookie will look the best! Home may mean kitchen but it also means warmth because whenever I am feeling blue a feeling pours out that makes me feel warm, safe and bright. Home also means warmth because feeling warm and cozy only ever happens when I feel at home. Home is not a place, it’s a feeling for me and that feeling is warmth. Finally, home means safe. This is because I believe that having a safe place to come home to you every day is something that everyone should have and feeling safe allows you to get a good night's sleep. Unfortunately not every child has that. Feeling safe happens with my parents and my dog. When my parents hug me and my dog licks me I feel safe. They are what carves my family and bright light into my home.
