The Real Meaning of Home

“What is special about your home?” they asked. But the real meaning of home is too big to put into words. The only way to say it and describe it is a place where I can be myself, feel like myself, be my best self. Home is not confined to a single house, on a single street or in a single town because home is wherever or whenever I'm with my family. For me home is like a part of the family because it is the family. I love my home! If home was a person this is the way I would describe it in the acronym “home” H: Heartfelt. The way I strongly feel about everything when I’m at home. I can walk through the doors, want to stay forever and never want to leave. O: On board. On board is the perfect describing word for O because I can whip up anything, any day with my crazy imagination and everyone is on board no matter what. M: Marvelous. The only way I can describe everything in my home. I can go anywhere at any time and bring my home with me. Some people would disagree thinking, ”How would you bring your house with you?”! But the real answer is that I’m not bringing my house, I’m bringing my home. Because home is when you're with your loved ones. E: Exceptional. I love that my home is unique in the most exceptional way because anyone who walks in will immediately feel welcome. This is the best way to describe my amazing home. I love my home. I hope everyone will be able to feel the amazing feeling I have when I wake up in the morning and when I go to bed at night. I love that Habitat for Humanity will be able to give so many kids a home and feel what I feel. Home is a small word but with the biggest meaning.
