Meaning of Home

What is the meaning of home? Home can be so many things in the eyes of so many different individuals. Home could be a country, a city, a house. Home could be a feeling of comfort and happiness. Home could be a retreat from a dreadful day. Home is different, special, and beautiful for everyone. Home is not a physical place but instead, it symbolizes a feeling. A feeling of safety, coziness, and familiar love. Home is where my family is, and for them, I shall be eternally grateful. My family supports me and the decisions I will make for myself now and in the future. My family guides me through my journey in life. They provide me with food and education every day by working endless hours at work to support our family. Home can be a feeling, but sometimes, it can be the people you are closest too. A home becomes a home when you grow an emotional attachment to it. It hurts to leave your home, but you feel an even closer connection when you return. Home is your emotional living space. It is the place where affection grows towards. It is an eternal dwelling place for you to feel safe and loved. Home is childhood memories, family gatherings, fresh cold Canadian winter air. Home is whatever and wherever you want it to be. You build your home. You grow with that home. It is the one place you know you can rest. Unfortunately, not everyone can experience the feeling of home. Some are less fortunate and must go through poverty. These people have lost hope and have no one else to turn to for help. Poverty is never being poor or un-wealthy, but it is the person who has lost all hope for themselves and the true things they are capable of. Our Canadian government has vowed to help the people that are struggling in our country and every day they do what they can. I give thanks to God for giving me a good life where I can go to sleep each night knowing I can wake up the next day at peace. Home is exactly what I want it to be. I built my home with love, happiness, and comfort. If the people I love the most are present, I will always be at home.
