Meaning of Home

Many people have a house but don’t have a home. Many times, people use the word house and home as the same word, but little do they know that house and home have their own meaning. In this essay I will talk about what the difference between a house and a home is. A house is a place where someone lives and where someone eats and sleeps. A house is a place where people stay for shelter but a house can be dirty, cold and miserable for someone to live in. A home is a place where people have fun, or a place where people live there to enjoy themselves. A home can be an apartment or a small tent, but it still is enjoyable for people. A home is a feeling of having your pet lick you on a sunny afternoon, or the birds singing in the morning to wake you up. A home is a beautiful sunset in the evening or you and your family sitting on the couch to watch a movie and eat popcorn. A home is you and your sibling sneaking around in the pantry eating candies, chips and chocolate. Many people may have a house infested with cockroaches or bed bugs but do not have a proper home. Be grateful for what you have because some people are homeless and are living on the streets by themselves with no family members. This is the difference between the meaning of house and home.
