Home, Where I Can Be Known

Home is a place of safety and love, where I feel secure. It is a place where my body, my feelings, and my beliefs are safe. At home my body is safe because if I get sick my family takes care of me. If I get injured, my family comforts me and takes care of me until I get better. Outside of my home, I do not know that strangers would do the same. Out in the world, we have to do our best to cooperate with, and understand many different situations. Sometimes, I am misunderstood and that can be hard. At home, my family knows me best and it is easier to be understood. It is like a break from the hard things. There can be hard things at home, like when my sister and I both want different things. It can be hard to compromise with my sister, or when I have to do chores that I do not want to do. I have to make myself do them and that can be hard. At home, when something feels too hard, together we talk, pray and we figure it out calmly. At home we have the same beliefs, but we do not have to have the same beliefs. Out in the world, not everyone has the same beliefs. It can cause some people to be angry, mean, or treat each other differently. At home, we can share the things that we agree with and things that we don’t without being mean. In conclusion, home is where I can grow, where I can be known and loved no matter what.
