My Home

My house has walls but my home has a family who make creative art on those walls. My house has rooms but my home is where my family fills those rooms. My house has a tv but my home is where my family cuddles up under a warm blanket and watches a movie. My house has a sturdy dining table but my home has well-prepared food on that table. My house has a bed but my home is where I can have a comfortable sleep on the bed. My house has a blanket but my home is where I can feel comfy under that blanket. My house has shelves lined with story books but my home is where my family read those stories. My house has a study table but my home is where my siblings and I study for hours on those tables. My house has an oven but my home has delicious cookies baked from that oven. My house has mirrors but my home is where people look into those mirrors and feel good about themselves. My house has a fridge but my home is where food fills up that fridge. My house has pots but my home is where plants flourish in those pots. My house has windows but my home is where people look through those windows and see a happy family living together. A house is built with wood and logs but a home is built with love by Habitat for Humanity. I am very grateful to Habitat for Humanity for building homes for families in need.
