My Home

My Home By: Omotola Home is a place where a person not only feels comfortable, but a place they look forward to the opportunity to live in every day. A home is built not of bricks or wood, but with the bond of a family. When I walk through the front door of my home, I see a fluffy brown dog named Skyler. She jumps on me, and her tail is wagging with excitement. She welcomes me with hugs, her soft fluffy fur on my skin makes me feel warm. In the living room there are pictures of my family decorated all over the walls. In my bedroom I see the beautiful birds that fly past my bedroom window. As I walk to the kitchen, I see my mom cooking. The smell of the delicious, mashed potatoes fills the air. The smell of the tropical flavored popsicles I eat on a sizzling summer day. The smell of the clean silk sheets on my bed as I walk past my bed. The smell of the golden coast scented candles on my cluttered desk. I hear the laughter of my family around the dining table at dinner time. The popping sound of fresh popcorn on movie night. The sound of my dog barking at people that walk by my house. The sound the wind makes on a cold windy day. I taste freshly baked cookies straight out of the oven shared amongst my family. The taste of strawberry ice cream. The taste of the sticky maple syrup I eat with my pancakes in the morning. The smell of chocolate cake I eat while I celebrate my birthday with my family and friends. I feel my warm cozy blanket on a frosty winter night. The chilly wind on my skin on a late-night walk with my family. Sticky ice cream dripping down my arm as I laugh with my family. I feel lucky to have a house filled with the people I love most my family.
