What Home Means to Me

If my home was one sound, it would be me and my sisters giggling when we are chasing each other around the house. If my home had one smell, It would be the delicious fresh smell of calzones right out of the oven. If my home was one sight, It would be looking at the beautiful stars in the night sky near the fire with my family. If my home was one taste, It would be my sister’s homemade sugar cookies. If my home was one touch, It would be a big family hug when my dad gets back home. I love my home, it’s where I feel welcome. Where I am loved. Where we are honest. Where we trust each-other. Where we listen. Where I feel safe. Where we can talk about our worries or problems. Where I can be stress free. Where I can be myself. My home is my happy place. I’m very grateful that I have a place to sleep. A healthy meal on my plate. A place where I stay warm and cozy. A place where I can be safe from snow and rain. My room is like a lounge it’s where I can calm down. My house is like a open door it’s where I feel welcome. I hope that everybody can have a home that suits all their needs. I thank Habitat for Humanity for building houses for people in need.
