Home in Canada

To beavers, home is where they are wet and in mud, To wolves, home is where they can be with their buds, To moose, home is where they can be in the trees, To bears, home is where they have room to sneeze. To orcas and seals, the cold is very nice, To polar bears, it’s where they can be on sea ice, To foxes, home is where they can be underground, To geese, home is where they can reach water in one bound. To mice, home is cozy, warm, and small, To bees, their home is fancy enough for a ball, To bison, it’s right on the plains, To sheep, it’s where they eat grains. To humans, home is where we feel at home, Where we are comfortable and happy to roam, Whether that’s in a hut or in a glass dome, But some don’t have a house or even a comb. So be thankful for everything and all, Whether it’s a car or just a doll, Because you could be worse off, So help people without homes, don’t scoff. To me, home isn’t in the cold or the hot, It’s not only what we’ve right now got, Home isn’t just a place where we sleep, It’s not where we can burrow down deep. Home is where I feel most alive, Where my heart and soul can truly thrive, It might be in the dark or in the light, To me, home is simply where I feel right.
