What Home Means to Me

Hello I am Auggie that’s short for August and I just moved houses, because our house was getting too small for our family. Our family has 8 kids. Can you believe it? I know it's a big house and all but it doesn't really feel like home. Maybe I should go ask my siblings and ask them about this change in our lives. First I am going to see my oldest brother Darryl. I walk to his room and knock on the door “hello what can I do for you?” Darryl says “what is home to you?” I ask “well, home can be anything really! It can be the feeling of safety, it can be your family and friends being by your side.” Darryl says “okay thanks” I said confused isn't home a place how can it be a thing? Next I go to see my other brother who is also Darryl's twin Wilbur. I went to go see him and he gave the same answer. So did the rest of my siblings. So I went to my room to sleep then I thought about what my siblings said, ‘maybe they were right, maybe home isn't a place, maybe it's a feeling of joy and happiness, maybe it's the feeling of hanging out with your friends and family. Maybe I will like this new house more than I thought I would’ then I went to sleep.
