What Home Means to Me

A home is a place people can feel safe, loved, protected and like they can be themselves. A house is a building, usually brick, with a roof, and furniture. A home is a place that comes with you, no matter where you might go. A house stays behind. A home is a place that smells like popcorn with butter and pancakes with sweet maple syrup that my dad likes to make. It smells like home. A house is just a house. A home is a place that looks like a family laughing with each other and enjoying their home. A house looks like walls and a floor. I am thankful to Habitat for Humanity for giving people a chance to have their own home.
