What Home Means to Me

What does home mean to me? Inside the home I feel rested and calm. I hear the words “I love you” coming from my mom and dad. Inside my home I feel loved. Outside the home I feel the breeze. I hear the birds chirping. Outside my house I feel loved. Inside my neighbourhood I feel energised as I see my neighbours working in their yards. I hear them saying ”good morning” . I say “good morning” back. In my neighbourhood I feel loved. In the city that I live in I smell the fresh air. I hear people helping others. In my city I feel loved. In the province that I live in I feel joy in the air. I hear others trying their best to do everything they can. In my province I feel loved. In the country that I live in I feel patriotic because in Canada we have amazing people who all try their hardest. I love my nation. I hear “I love you” In my country I feel loved. In the world that I live in I feel sad. To walk on an earth where there's no affordable housing, racism and many horrible things. I hear hate in the air. Us humans cannot agree on anything and it makes me sad. On the planet I live in I do not feel loved. But habitat for humanity is helping get affordable housing and if we all chip in we can have decent homes for everyone. Come on people, let's help!
