What Home Means To Me

When you think of the word “home” what do you think of? Your family? The building you live in? Or maybe food in the oven ready to serve? When I think of “home” I think of a place where I feel and am safe, where I feel and am loved. Home is where everyone is kind to each other. Home is a place where you won’t be judged for what you do or what you like. It doesn’t matter what kind of house you live in as long as you’re with the people you love. To me home is where my family is. Home is where if I’m sad there will always be someone or something to cheer me up. If I’m hurt, there will always be someone to make me feel better. Sometimes I’ll come home from a rough day at school and I’ll be upset, there will always be someone there. Whether it’s my mom, my step dad, my dad, or even my cat. I have two houses, my mom’s house and my dad’s house. Some people say I can only have two houses but only one home. Well I think they’re wrong because in my opinion a home isn't the building you’re in, it’s how you feel while you’re there. I feel safe, happy, loved, and cared about in my two houses. That makes them my homes. You can have as many homes as you want as long as you feel good and safe, loved and happy wherever you are. Home can be anywhere. That’s what home is to me!
