The meaning of home

There’s a big difference between Home and House to me… House means just a shelter, some place where you can stay warm and safe, a roof over your head, a floor to walk on and walls to keep you safe from danger. But Home is so much better to me. It's a place where you can feel safe being yourself , someplace where you can stay with your family and treat it like it’s actually yours! It’s always there waiting for you when you step right into that door and then you see it.. YOUR HOME! Though, House is very important too. House is where you have shelter to stay warm, you can hug your family even though it might not fully be yours. It’s where you can treat it like it's yours even if it’s your friends. They might say when you walk in the door, “Hi, welcome, please treat this house like it’s your own!” Even if they do say that, don’t act like it’s your house fully! You don’t want to walk around digging through some things that aren’t yours but you know what, here’s something you should know.. It’s your house too (kinda) when you're also living in it. When you come into your home you might be feeling sad, happy, angry, or any other mood you can think of. Any other mood that you might be feeling though, if you feel overwhelmed, sad or angry you could cuddle with your family on the couch or floor with a couple of blankets and watch a movie if you want to. You could read a nice book or look outside the window watching nature grow or the rain and thunder (which is really cool!). Do whatever you’d like in YOUR home. It's your home, your life. When you come back from a long wild trip with your family or a walk outside, you can come back home saying HOME SWEET HOME!!! I’d say that if it were me coming back home. Home is when you do whatever you’d like. Everything you do there will be a memory. Even if you have to move, it will still be in your heart forever and ever. Also if you move, you’ll still remember your old house! Go for a drive by it or you can go for a walk. Ask the new owner to see it if you’d like or look at old pictures. Remember, that whatever house you have, will always protect you if it’s raining or snowing; if it’s really sunny and warm there will be a roof over top of your head. There will be a floor to sleep on or anything else. Everybody deserves a home or a house, they deserve a roof over their head, a floor to step on that’s not filled with branches or anything like that. Everybody deserves walls and other materials for houses. What home and house means to me is that I get a roof over my head, a floor to walk on, walls to keep me safe, a bed to lay on, a couch to cuddle up with my family, siblings to annoy. Everyone deserves to have these things but most importantly they should have people who love them and can keep them safe. Home will always be in your heart when you're on a long trip. When you come back it will be there. Home doesn’t have to be a square place where you can walk in that front door. It will always be there in your heart. Wherever you go it will be with you. The point is everybody deserves a Home or House!!!
