HOME

A house is not a home and a home is not a house. Some people think that your house is your home and nowhere else. But home can be anywhere. For me, it’s my house, it's my friends’ house, my Aunt and Uncles’ houses as well, even school feels like home. In my home I feel safe. I feel like I am protected from anything outside that could hurt me mentally or physically. In my home I feel loved and cared for. My mother is there if I am crying, my father is there if I'm hurt, and my brother is there to cheer me up if I need it. Family and friends are there for me, waiting to help, to comfort, to talk, to laugh, to cry, and to pray. It’s where I am loved and where my family is; it is home. My home is where the heart of my life is. For my home is where I can go to be alone and feel safe and loved. It’s the heart of my life because I know everyone cares and no one will judge me. It is the heart of my life because I know that wherever I am there is someplace to go. It is the heart of my life because I can come back to the front steps of my home and walk into the doorway and feel the warm rush of air that makes my heart feel at peace. It’s kind of like my real heart; it pumps blood to my body, filling it with warmth, hope, and life. It is the heart of my life because it is where my day starts and ends. It is where I live together with my family and friends, at my home, with me, for the rest of eternity.
