What Home Means to Me

My home is where I first opened my eyes, and where I learned to talk, walk and play. The walls of my home are filled with memories of my childhood. But not everyone lives in a house. Some people live in places like apartments, condos or temporary shelters. When one of these places belong to you, you call it your home because you have an emotional connection with it. My home gives me a feeling of comfort, and a sense of belonging. It is a place where I can be myself without being judged. My parents, my brother and my grandparents make me feel loved. They nurture me, and take very good care of me. My home makes me feel happy and safe. Home is a place where we make memories with our loved ones by spending time with them. I have made lots of memories in my home. Some of them include planting lots of flowers in my garden with my mother, painting my room with her, playing video games with my dad, having sibling nights with my brother and lots of birthday parties and playdates with my friends. My home fulfills all my needs and provides me a safe place to learn values and skills of life. My parents guide me and provide me emotional support when I need help. My mom helps me with my homework and answers all my inquisitive questions patiently. My home is my paradise. It is a place where I make fond memories, share experiences, celebrate successes and support my family during difficult times. A house is just a physical structure. Where you live and the size of your house doesn’t matter. We should all accept where we live and be grateful for it. We should take good care of our home and it will take good care of us. Nobody should have the option of living on the streets. Everyone deserves a roof over their head. Love makes a structure a home.
