What home means to me By Aleksey Kan A home to some people can mean a building or even a place just to sleep. But I think not. A home is a place filled with many memories. A place to make new memories too. I know I have made so many memories in my house. That may be because I have never moved to a different house before. I’m sure you will make many memories in every house or apartment you have lived in. A home is different from a house. A house or an apartment is just a building. It can be empty with nothing in it. Or it can be filled with memories and people. A house is a building with walls, windows, and doors. There really isn’t much special about a house until people are living in one. When people move into a house or an apartment the rooms get filled with decorations, new wallpaper, new furniture. The families and people that live in these houses make the place light up with their own personality. I know I love decorating my room with things that yell my personality. It may be a bit messy and I hate cleaning, but I love my room. A home is a house or apartment, but with people that love each other. My home is great, it's filled with love and comfort. My whole family loves music so in my home you may hear a lot of music. That’s something that makes my home special. There's something special about everyone's home I assure you. You may not be able to think of one thing that's special about your home. What’s something that everyone in your home has in common? You may be able to get more of an idea now. Do you know the quote “Home Is Where The Heart Is”? If you do, then you might know that it is true. My home is where the heart is. Many people I love live in my house. That’s one reason about what home means to me. I’m sure there are many more so please keep reading. Anyways, a home is a place for many people or animals. Animals have homes too, like a burrow or a nest. Many more examples but that would take too long to name and I want to keep this essay interesting. We all love our homes in some way or another. Unfortunately some people don’t have a home or an apartment but their home can be somewhere else. For me, a home is where my family is. That can be different for some people. Some people live alone especially if they're in their early twenties. Some people call their childhood home their “home”, but they call where they live a “house”. For some people their childhood house is their home because that's where they grew up. I can understand that but for me I only have one home. If you guessed, it’s wherever my family is. A home to me means a building but it’s filled with memories and people you love. It has to be a place you are comfortable and safe in. If I’m not comfortable or safe in my home, why live there? Anyways, what home means to me is a place to just be me. A place where I feel loved. That's what home means to me. THE END
