Home is like a newborn child

Home is born with a plan; a plan of love, teamwork, and materials. With time, it grows. To be strong like a child. In days, months, and years, like a student, it learns and grows. My home grows to have different abilities; to have strength, confidence and love as a teenager. Then finally, my home is an adult; all grown, complete and strong. And then new families move in; mothers, fathers, and their newborn child. Just like us, a home will live. And have the responsibility of any human being. I think a home should deserve the same amount of respect and love that we get. Because it shelters us, protects us, and loves us. But just like us a home will die; it will crumble, fade and fall. But till then, a home will live; to perform it’s duties and responsibilities. And then, I know that somewhere, in another country or city, home is just a newborn child. Many thanks to Habitat for humanity for building homes across Canada and helping people with shelter. I hope you enjoyed reading this poem written by me.
