What Home Means to Me

Home… Where I practice songs on my violin. Where I read my favorite book and glance up at my cream white walls that my dad painted for me when I was 3 years old. Where I turn on my heated mattress pad and warm up and will soon drift off to sleep curled up with my warm blanket and favorite stuffed animal. Where I wake up in the morning and get dressed. Where I sleep in on the weekend. Home… Where my family sits at my family's dinner table and eats delicious food that my mom cooked. Where my family watches movies in our basement and eats buttery popcorn that melts in my mouth. Where we ride our bicycles downtown and play outside with our dog named lady. Where I build blanket forts with my siblings. Where we take turns playing our piano downstairs and dance. Where my mom and I bake cookies in the oven and taste them once they are cooked. Home… Where I go to school every day and play with my friends. Where I had my first sleepover at my bestie's house. Where I go to violin lessons every Tuesday. Where my Dad and mom took me to the Mountain View Science fair and one a gift card to Indigo. Home… Where my family went to heritage park in the summer. Where my grandparents took me to West Edmonton Mall. Where I go see my aunt and uncle who live in Edmonton. Where my parents took me to British Columbia. Where we have the freedom to live in Canada. That is what home means to me!
