Home خانه

I think a home is made out of 3 components; family, house and the community. Among these three components, the one that I think will never change is the family. Your house might be big like a castle or a small tent. You might be living with people of your own caste, sharing the same culture, religion and traditions or it could be a totally different community, with different norms, language, culture and religion. But the only thing which cancels the effect of these changes is being with your family. Just like me, once my home was Pakistan but now, it is Canada. They will not be the same, but I feel home in Canada- with my family, among my wonderful loving and welcoming community. The only factor which makes me call a place/city/country as my home is my family, who love me unconditionally and around whom I feel free. Who is my guide, my mentor. To whom I share all my problems, my failures, my shortcomings without being judged. Their sweet hug and kiss before bed and first thing in the morning assures me that I am loved, cared and guarded. Their appreciation of my tiny progress, or number of days spent with me solving my 1000 piece puzzles, or playing dodge the ball in our basement, all create wonderful memories. A perfect place where I grow in all aspects. I am thankful for having not only a great family but also a house to live in and a wonderful community which makes Kitchener(Canada) a perfect home for me. And I pray for every single person on this earth, especially those who lost their houses and their families due to disasters, to have a place which they could feel and call a home.
