The Definition Of A Home

Home is an institution where your family is cared for or the country or city you live in. But that is a home according to the dictionary. Even though the dictionary is never wrong, it isn't what I think of as a home. A household, according to me, is where you can feel comfort when you need it. Home is where you can almost touch the essence of love and laughter. Surprisingly, when I leave home, I instantly think of the sweet smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. A house is not always a home because a house is just pieces of wood and nails. But a home is hanging out with your friends or playing Monopoly with your family on family game night. I strangely have an obsession with my cat Bailey so he’s definitely a necessity to my home. On occasion, I always wanna get out of my house (mostly because of covid) but never wanting to leave my home. Speaking of Covid, I remember saying “Mom why can we not see our family for Christmas” She said “well… It's because of Covid” and I remember being lonely for Christmas but it was a really good Christmas overall. One time I thought a house was a home but now I'm thinking Dang I was so wrong!
