Everyone Deserves a Home

A question to ask yourself every now and then, is if you appreciate your home or where you live, and if you find yourself leaning towards the answer no, let me tell you why you are so cherished to have been given a home to live in today. You might think since we live in such an economically well off country, that everybody has a roof over their head and the warmth of love, and the coziness of comfort. But that is beyond true. In fact, hundreds of thousands of Canadians are reported to be homeless every single year, which is so beyond unbearable to hear. The thought of some people not being able to gather around a dinner table and enjoy a meal made by a loved one, or the thought of some not being able to experience and make all the childhood memories one can look back at in the future, sincerely makes me feel unfortunate. Whether the person in poverty got taken away from their home or simply just moved away for different reasons, it doesn’t matter as it is such a huge problem in modern society today and while there communities and shelters taking in all of these unfortunate individuals, those buildings don’t compare to the joy and delightfulness a home can provide you. And that is why I am writing this paragraph today and why I am trying to persuade you to try to realize what issue this has become since you all are privileged enough to have a home filled with warmth, while many aren’t and aren’t recognized. My goal is to take a small part in helping a big goal, because no aid is too small not to count and everyone and everybody deserves a safe and wholesome home to thrive in.
